Two days after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, a group of MUDHA quickly traveled to the neighboring country. Thereafter, in Léogâne MUDHA established an office from which it operates and works to promote the human development of women, children and girls displaced by the earthquake, as well as strengthening the social fabric of communities and camps Léogâne.
Community involvement is one of the cornerstones of MUDHA’s work in Haiti, which is promoted by strengthening technical and vocational skills, health promotion and defense of the rights and basic needs, and the promotion of leadership.
Also MUDHA provides health, food and education to 26 children living in the Casa Hogar Nueva Esperanza (Macombe, Léogâne). The Casa Hogar totally collapsed by the earthquake and decided to host MUDHA girls and girls who lived there, building a new home and assuming the management.
MUDHA’s team in Haiti’s office is made up of five people.
